Available from Borders, Barnes and Noble, and through, Paperblanks carries a line of beautiful Smythe-sewn and handstitched-binding journals in a variety of styles. Some have a rubberized elastic strap (similar to that of the Moleskine), some a magnetized flap, and some no closure (see above).

Paperblanks just redid their website and finally have the equivalent of an adequate online catalog. Many of their journals approach the status of too pretty to use.

Paperblanks are lovely books–I’ve used them before. The paper is of fairly good quality and I appreciate the way they lay flat when open, due to the sewn spine. Very comfortable books to write in.
